Overview
An AI-assisted discovery service to consider when finding sources is part of answering your question.
What is free, and what should you check?
Perplexity’s help center lists a Free Standard plan with basic searches, limited Pro searches, and limited file uploads. Its plan comparison distinguishes advanced models and other features from the free allowance.
A practical starting workflow
Use an initial answer to locate candidate sources, then inspect the original pages yourself. Keep a small evidence table showing the claim, publication date, source, and what the source actually establishes.
Example prompt to adapt
Find primary sources for the claim below. For each source, give its date and the exact part relevant to the claim. Separate confirmed evidence, disagreement, and information you could not verify.
How to judge the result
Open every important citation. Confirm that the source exists, is current enough for the question, and supports the specific claim. Multiple links repeating the same report do not necessarily provide independent confirmation.
Limitations and who it may suit
Source links help you investigate; they do not make an answer automatically correct. A result may omit a caveat, cite a secondary summary, or combine facts from different dates. Do not treat the service as a substitute for professional review.
A candidate for readers prepared to inspect citations and document what they find. For a question with a known primary source, reading that source directly may be faster.
