Overview
AI features inside the Notion workspace, where notes, documents, and project information can share a working context.
What is free, and what should you check?
Notion lists a Free workspace plan, but describes its AI capabilities as a trial on Free and Plus. Ongoing AI availability belongs to other eligible plans. A free workspace is therefore not the same as an ongoing free AI allowance.
A practical starting workflow
Consider it when a project already lives in Notion. Start with a page you own and understand: ask for an action list from approved notes, then compare each action against the original.
Example prompt to adapt
From this project note, extract action items into a table with task, owner, and due date. Use “not specified” when an owner or date is missing. Include the supporting sentence beside each task.
How to judge the result
Check that the extracted owner and deadline were actually stated. Distinguish a suggestion from an agreed task. Review who can access the underlying page before sharing summaries or connecting additional information.
Limitations and who it may suit
Trials can end before a workflow is established. Check the plan required to continue and how billing applies to workspace members. Confirm permissions and data controls before processing confidential company material.
A candidate for existing Notion users who can justify the eligible plan. If you only need occasional general drafting, compare the cost and friction with a standalone assistant first.
